OUR HISTORY
The real history of The Pointe is yet to be written. It will be written by the lives changed, the marriages strengthened, the acts of service performed, and the love and forgiveness given by the people who embrace the life changing message of God as they come through our place.
In 2008, a personal friendship got stretched, and John Newland, pastor of Fall Creek Baptist Church in Indianapolis called his friend, Charlie Fehrman, asking him to come from southeast Indiana to visit Indy. John had long had a burden for the growing communities surrounding Indianapolis and the lack of new churches springing up to meet their needs. Patiently (and repeatedly) he reminded Charlie of the needs and the opportunities and, in his mind at least, the perfect fit Charlie and Debi would be for the area.
When the timing was right, (or as John would say it, ‘When Charlie finally decided to listen to God…!’) Charlie and Debi agreed, and began the transition from Greater Cincinnati to Greater Indianapolis – Fishers to be exact. Over time, relationships were built, seemingly impossible opportunities presented themselves with God’s help, and in February 2009, The Pointe Community Church held its first service.
It may be arguable whether God did the most work in the lives of those early attenders or in Charlie and Debi’s life, but work He did…and is still doing. That’s the point of THE POINTE –connecting people to a growing relationship with God, helping them to do life better…and so it continues.
