OUR BELIEFS
1. About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three
personalities: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Jesus Christ became human while remaining divine in order to bridge the gap between God and man caused by sin. The Holy Spirit is present to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ and to empower those who put their faith in God for forgiveness of sins with guidance in doing what is right.
2. About the Bible
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
3. About Human Beings
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
4. About Salvation
Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled lifestyle leading us away from God and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith.
5. About Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will exist eternally either separated from God by sin, or with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. The decision we make during life regarding Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for our sins is what determines our destiny. The relationship with God through Jesus Christ is both immediate (affecting our daily life) and eternal (affecting our place in eternity) and secured through the work of Jesus.
We believe the Bible is clear in these areas. In many more areas of life the Bible provides room for the complexity of human experiences, circumstances, and stages of faith. In those non-essential areas, we have liberty and encourage dialogue with God through prayer, study, and relationship. In these stated beliefs, we have love, believing that a relationship with God is a journey not merely an event, and we believe the work of the Holy Spirit is to draw us to God’s image.
